My heart was crushed. I even let in my notice with no real explanation of the reason. A week went by. My cases were packed and I was dressed in my long blue overcoat. Now I do not know much of the night’s secrets but I did manage to piece together a few of the details. Truth be told Elizabeth and me did not get to spend much time together in the forthcoming weeks. It was unheard of for a Lady to mix with her servants in such a friendship like manner and her mother was keeping her eye out, especially with the good review from the prince. To put more pressure upon us to stay hidden the castle was buzzing with excitement

Candlelight - part 1The first candle is lit as I start my story; my quill is pointed and loaded with ink and my mind races upon the past events that have changed my life, now I am ready to begin. My name is Jane Henley and late December 1893 was when it all started. The small cold flakes of snow drifted through the brisk night’s air. I was up late as per usual working on the dress.
